Rick Santorum Defends Life in the Wall Street Journal


Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has written another eloquent defense of human life at all stages of development. This is in the form of an op-ed piece that was published at the Wall Street Journal. Our country’s Declaration of Independence stated: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”  Unfortunately, we did not live by those words consistently when our fore-bearers agreed to let some enslave their African brothers.  Nevertheless, if the principles of freedom are morally praiseworthy, they must apply to all of us no matter what our age.
